Synapse is the data management platform that powers the AD Knowledge Portal.
Before you can upload data, your data uploader needs to register for a Synapse account and become a certified user.
Register and Certify Your Synapse Account
-
Register for a Synapse account and certify it. Certification requires completing a short quiz confirming you understand privacy and security considerations for handling human subjects research data.
-
We recommend also completing an Access Request so you can access and download existing AD Knowledge Portal resources relevant to your data contribution.
Once certified, a badge will appear on your Synapse profile confirming your certified status.
Note: only the data uploader — the person responsible for uploading files to Synapse — needs to complete certification, but all team members who will be accessing the data after data release should be included on the Access Request and subsequent DUC.
Data Contribution by Synapse Teams
If multiple members of your team will be working together to upload data, we can create a Synapse Team for your group and grant access to the team as a whole, rather than to separate individuals. All members of a Synapse Team must be certified Synapse users.
